Chiropractic Care

The nervous system controls the functions of every tissue organ and system in the body. Chiropractors work with the nervous system to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure of the spine, the function of the nervous system, and how this relationship affects the restoration and preservation of health. SOT Chiropractics looks to:

  • Provide gentle adjustments
  • Remove toxins
  • Deliver nutrients
  • Increase CSF Flow
  • Decrease tension

Thermography

We are pleased to introduce Medical Infared Imaging (also known as Thermography) to Brookfield, WI this coming March 2014. Body temperatures act as reference points and are an indication of how the body is functioning. Thermography uses ultrasensitive infrared detectors coupled with sophisticated computer processing stations to accurately measure and produce an image of the heat emanating from the surface of the body. This can be a powerful method for early detection of breast cancer and other medical conditions. It is 100% safe and painless!

  • No radiation
  • No intravenous access
  • No contact with the body

Why would I choose

Chiropractic?

Over 100 years ago, D.D. Palmer (the Founder of Chiropractic) had a “big idea”- the idea that good health can be sustained naturally, without drugs or surgery, through Chiropractic care.  Today, Chiropractic is the second largest licensed health care profession.

Going to a chiropractor can save you over $100 in back pain costs. Preventative health care is important.

The average treatment cost of an episode of back pain for those who had access to Chiropractic care was $289, while those who did not have access to Chiropractic care paid an average of $399 per episode.

chiropractic infographic 2

Those who use chiropractic preventative health care have 32% fewer back surgeries.

Of every 1000 back pain episodes, 4.8 episodes required surgery for those with traditional care. For those who had access to chiropractic care, the number decreased by 32% to only 3.3.

Of each 1000 people with back pain episodes, 15.6 of those using traditional care required hospitalization, while only 9.3 of those who had chiropractic care required hospitalization, a reduction of 41%.

Thermography is now available in Brookfield, WI!

WHAT DOES BREAST THERMOGRAPHY HAVE TO OFFER?

breast thermography

A NEW PARTNER IN EARLY BREAST CANCER PREVENTION

Since its first large scale uses in the 1980s, breast thermography has developed into an important tool in the fight against breast cancer. As a safe, comfortable and extremely sensitive procedure, thermography is used to detect both a pre-cancerous state of the breast and the earliest signs of breast cancer.

Quote about breast cancerSophisticated cameras and computer systems are used to measure heat from the surface of the breasts and produce an image that can be evaluated for abnormalities. Alterations in these images are caused when cellular changes increase blood flow, thus warming the breast. Because of thermography’s extreme sensitivity, these changes may be among the earliest signs of pre-cancerous and/or cancerous tissue formation (3,6,7,8).

WHAT MAKES BREAST THERMOGRAPHY SO UNIQUE?

Therefore, in the absence of other positive tests, an abnormal thermogram gives a woman an early warning that a pathological process may be occurring. By maintaining close monitoring of her breast health with serial thermography, self-breast exams, clinical examinations and other tests, a woman has a much better chance of detecting cancer at its earliest stage and preventing invasive tumor growth.

BREAST THERMOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

Statistics indicate that 23% of all breast cancers occur under the age of 49 years. (1). Consequently, these guidelines include careful breast monitoring during these years. With the addition of thermography, interval cancers (cancers that show up between mammograms) may also be detected much sooner.

EARLY DETECTION MEANS LIFE

Breast cancer is the most common cancer of women, and the risk increases with age (1). Risk is also higher in women whose close Studies show up to a 61% increase in survival rate when thermography and mammography are used together. relatives have had the disease. Women without children, and those that have had their first child after age 30, also seem to be at higher risk. However, every woman is at risk of developing breast cancer. Current research indicates that 1 in every 8 women in the U.S. will get breast cancer in their lifetime (1).

It has been determined that no one method of examination alone will serve all the needs in early breast cancer detection (1,2,6). Thermography’s role is in addition to mammography, not in lieu of. Thermography does not replace mammography and mammography does not replace thermography, the tests compliment each other. It is thermography’s unique ability to see the abnormal heat changes produced by diseased breast tissue that allows for extremely early detection (3,6,7,8).

Since it has been determined that 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, we must use every means possible to detect cancers when there is the greatest chance for survival. Proper use of breast self-exams, physician exams, thermography and mammography together provide the earliest detection system available to date (3,7,8). If treated in the earliest stages, cure rates greater than 95% are possible (3,6).

Meet Jessica Dudzik

massage therapist in brookfield wi

“I graduated Lakeside School of Massage in Milwaukee, WI in 2011.  After leaving school I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in sports and therapeutic massage.  I began my practice at a local health and fitness club.

While working at the gym I pursued and achieved certification as a Personal Trainer and a Nutritional Consultant.  Being able to fully consult each client on how to reach their health and wellness goals is extremely important.

In the year and a half that I worked at the gym I was able to learn more about the unique impact to the body of each sport and activity.  I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of weekend warriors as well as professional athletes.  Every day is a new opportunity and every body is a new challenge.  I love what I do and I look forward to sharing the many wonderful benefits of massage with each person who comes to the table.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children.  We enjoy camping, music and dancing, and playing with the dog.”
